I like this book, BUT it's not completely usable with out the accompanying textbook. A few people mentioned in their reviews that purchasing the textbook was not necessary, but I disagree. The workbook specifically references the chapters of the textbook, and there are some exercises that cannot be done without the textbook.That being said, I will be buying the textbook because I appreciate the exercises in this workbook. Practice is important for language learning, and this book helps with that. There's a CD included so you can practice listening as well as writing. I think it's a good book.Update 5/14/2017 - I do not recommend the textbook for this workbook. I stated that they have to be used together and I still think so. And since I do not recommend the textbook (especially for self-study because the language is very technical and cumbersome), I would have to caution against purchasing this workbook.
You really need to buy the textbook to understand the workbook. I wish they sold these in a bundle instead of separately so people know they should buy both.
This has been a great tool for me in learning Hangul. I couldn't be happier with the lessons. I do agree that learning the alphabet its' sound, and pronunciation first, and then obtaining the matching textbook would prove to be more beneficial and limit frustration.
Purchased it for a high school child to supplement foreign language study. This is a college-level textbook but for younger students, you could go at a slower pace. Excellent flow of materials!
This is by far the best material I bought so far! I have lots of material and was a little lost but when I purchased this book, it gave me motivation to continue. I know that everyone has a unique experience and what is good for me maybe not for another person. So I've bought so many books and read lots of reviews but what made me choose was the book preview. It gave me the chance to check if this was the right material for me. And you know what?It was! I recommend it!
I like it, Since I'm teaching myself Korean. The book is easy to follow and also come with a tutoring cd which make the learning easier. I'm happy with this buy. :)
